Sky Island Educational Evaluations is a school psychology and educational evaluation practice founded and led by Enilda Sutton, Ed.S., NCSP. The practice partners with schools, districts, charter schools, private schools, educational organizations, and families across Northern Arizona.

Comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation sits at the center of the practice, alongside consultation, professional development, and flexible school psychology support, so teams have the right kind of help for the question in front of them.

Enilda founded Sky Island to provide school psychology services that are thorough, collaborative, and genuinely useful to the people who act on them. She brings over a decade of experience in school psychology and works with students from preschool through 12th grade. She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and an Arizona Department of Education-certified School Psychologist, and she is bilingual in Spanish and English.

Enilda works closely with teachers, multidisciplinary teams, administrators, and families, and approaches every referral as a shared problem-solving process. Her reports and consultation are written to produce practical, meaningful educational recommendations that teams can put to work.

Her aim is for every student to be understood clearly and supported well, and for the schools and families around that student to feel like partners in the process. Sky Island is built on the belief that a good evaluation opens doors: it helps teams act with confidence, and it helps families see their child's strengths as plainly as their needs.

OUR EVALUATION PHILOSOPHY

Understanding the whole learner, not just the difficulty

The goal of a Sky Island evaluation is not simply to catalog what a student struggles with. It is to understand the student's complete learning profile: how they think, what they already do well, where learning breaks down, what the environment is asking of them, and what conditions let them do their best work.

That is what strength-based practice means here. Strengths are not a courtesy paragraph at the end of a report. They are assessment data, and they are often the most useful part, because the supports that work are usually the ones built on something a student can already do.

Being neurodiversity-affirming does not mean overlooking areas of disability or educational need. Areas of impairment are assessed directly, documented clearly, and reported with the specificity that eligibility decisions and service planning require. What it means is that differences in how a student thinks, learns, communicates, or regulates are described accurately and respectfully, rather than framed as something inherently wrong with the student.

Accurate, respectful description

Findings name what is difficult without reducing a student to a deficit list or pathologizing a different way of thinking.

Context matters

Developmental history, language, culture, and the demands of the setting are weighed alongside test data, never separately from it.

Findings become supports

Every conclusion is carried through to recommendations that improve access, participation, learning, and well-being.

A good report should give a team confidence about what to do next, and give a family a clearer, fairer picture of their child.
